A Senior Market Analyst is responsible for studying market conditions to assess the potential sales of products and services. The Senior Market Analyst will be able to analyse qualitative data, trends, strategies, and competition aiming at increasing competitiveness. The goal of this role is to assist the marketing department in reading customer data and understanding trends.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare reports on findings while illustrating data with graphs and translating complex results into written texts that are clear and understandable
  • Devise and assess procedures and methods for data collection, including opinion polls, surveys and questionnaires
  • Gather information on competitors, and conduct analysis on their sales, prices and methods of distribution and marketing to thoroughly learn about the competition
  • Collect and analyse data regarding customer preferences, demographics, buying habits and needs to better identify market potential and factors influencing product demand
  • Perform valid and reliable market research SWOT analysis
  • Utilise online market research and catalogue findings to databases
  • Interpret data, formulate reports and make recommendations
  • Gather and analyse statistical data using modern and traditional methods to collect it
  • Research and implement marketing tools to support our promotional projects (automation software,visualisation, etc.)
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to identify opportunities for new client acquisition
  • Measure the effectiveness of advertising, marketing and communications strategies

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in marketing or related field
  • Fluent in SQL and preferably Python.
  • Excellent knowledge of statistical packages (SPSS, SAS or similar), databases and MS Office
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Deep knowledge of data warehousing, and mining
  • Adequate knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys etc)
  • Working knowledge with CRM programs
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking
