Job Description
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES & FUNCTIONS
The role holder shall perform preventative and corrective maintenance on the following equipments within the communications network:
1. TDM Switching 2. Digital Microwave Radio (DMRS) 3. SDH Transmission
4. Access Multiplexing 5. Secure Mobile Radio (SMR) 6. Information Technology (IT)
7. Copper & Fibre Optic Cable Infrastructure 8. Cryptographic
The role holder shall be expected to perform as an individual and as part of a team to provide 24/7 service response and support the Regional Control Centre (RCC) when required.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To perform scheduled maintenance (MIC) of all switching, DMRS, transmission, access, SMR, IT, cryptographic and cable equipment including the completion of electronic workbook and database records.
2. To restore service on all switching, DMRS, transmission, access, SMR, IT, cryptographic and cable network faults under the supervision of the RCC. Complete Maintenance Service Outage (MSO) reports within 24-hours and Fault Investigation Reports (FIR) within 48-hours of service restoration.
3. To restore service on IT server platforms that provide operation and management capabilities.
4. To ensure all MIC, MSO and FIR records and reports are completed as per the company processes and procedures.
5. To provide field support for Hajj and Janadriyah festivals and Royal Inspection Tours to desert locations.
6. To perform other ancillary tasks related to the main job function as delegated by the immediate management.
7. To be prepared to serve at other locations as and when required to meet business needs.
8. To provide 'on the job training' to technicians as directed by regional management.
Job Specification
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION (Knowledge & Experience):
1. An ONC/D or equivalent in a relevant telecommunication engineering subject.
2. At least 3 years telecommunications experience that includes transmission and switching or transmission and tetra equipments.
3. At least 3 years network communications experience including interaction with a control centre.
4. IT competence in the operation of Microsoft Office.
5. Fit to climb towers and masts after training.
6. Must have driving license from country of origin and a valid KSA driving licence.
