General Summary
Lead the Sports and Events operations by overseeing business operations, ensuring effective operational and financial procedures are in place.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Formulate the Sports and Events operations strategy to support the achievement of QOC’s strategic objectives in terms of assets operations.
- Lead and oversee the implementation of Sports and Events operations policies, processes, procedures and controls.
- Develop the Sports and Events operations budget in alignment with agreed budgetary requirements to allow effective achievement of desired objectives in collaboration with the Finance division.
- Develop and recommend long-term budgets, projections, capital improvements, and annual operating season schedules.
- Monitor monthly forecasts for Profits amp; Losses and capital reporting and adjust activities as needed to meet or exceed objectives for each asset.
- Lead efforts and initiatives aimed at maximizing revenue opportunities and efficiencies.
- Ensure timely development of recruitment, training, commissioning, and opening plans in alignment with approved development phases and ultimate grand opening.
- Ensure the development and implementation of safety training and accountability programs, and contingency and risk management plans to address potential issues and emergencies throughout the operating year.
- Ensure the development and implementation of periodic maintenance plans on all Sports and Events assets in order to constantly reach optimal safety levels.
- Participate in community and business events in order to promote the Sports and events interests.
- Manage the achievement of departmental objectives through effective leadership by setting individual objectives, managing performance and developing the team to maximize performance.
- Provide overall direction and guidance to mentor, coach, motivate and challenge teams providing opportunities for growth and development within the Sports and Events operations team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field
- Master’s Degree in Management or related field preferred
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred
- 15-19 preferred total years of relevant experience
