We are currently seeking an experienced Principal Designer - Piping to join our team. As a leading independent Talent Acquisition Consultancy, we specialize in providing recruitment solutions for the Oil and Energy industry. The Principal Designer - Piping will be responsible for providing expert design guidance and overseeing the development of piping systems for various projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of designers in the development of piping design concepts and solutions.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the design process, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Review and approve design drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure the timely and successful delivery of projects.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to piping design.
- Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to ensure design integrity and functionality.
- Oversee the preparation of design documentation and deliverables.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to junior designers, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate design concepts and progress.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to coordinate design efforts and ensure overall project success.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Mandatory: S3D/Microstation Designer
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in piping design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of piping codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, API, ANSI).
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, PDMS, or similar tools.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
