The Finance function at Horizontal is looking for a hands-on Accountant to join and make a meaningful impact to the department. This role reports to the Global Financial Controller and will be a key contributor to handle the day-to-day accounting needs for our EMEA region offices (UAE, KSA, UK).

What you’ll do: 

  • Calculate and prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations as part of month-end close.
  • Validation of all expenses and internal controls.
  • Manage both accounts payable and accounts receivables for our Saudi Arabia and Dubai entities.
  • Work with external payroll provider to ensure prompt and accurate payroll processing for both Saudi Arabia and Dubai employees, including government portals.
  • Review employee expense reports ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles for both Saudi Arabia and Dubai and company procedures.
  • Own the Fixed Asset accounting process, ensuring the company is following company policy.
  • Reconcile and validate customer volume rebates.
  • Coordinate and assist with the annual financial review and statutory audits.
  • Stay abreast of new accounting and tax laws affecting both Saudi Arabia and Dubai.
  • Support information requests within Finance and other departments and respond to external information requests.
  • Maintain and update process documentation procedures for areas of responsibility.
  • Assist with annual government surveys and filings.
  • Managing tax filings for UAE amp; KSA
  • Own and manage invoicing clients.
  • Adhere to and enforce finance processes from all departments.

Operational and Admin support

  • Working with our local PRO to support in onboarding new employees from a government portal perspective.
  • Support in the end of service finance operations
  • Support in the Proforma administration
  • Work with local leaders

Who you are: 

  • Self-motivated, organized, and detail driven.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment in a growing and expanding company.
  • Passionate about accounting, systems, and process improvement.
  • Takes initiative to understand the business and develop productive relationships with business personnel.

What you bring:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with enterprise accounting systems.Zoho a plus
  • Great communication skills, fluency in Arabic and English
  • Previous professional service industry experience a plus.
