Job Description

Eram Talent, a reputable Talent Acquisition Consultancy, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance of Way Foreman for a leading company in the transportation industry. As a Maintenance of Way Foreman, you will play a critical role in overseeing the maintenance and construction activities of the railway infrastructure to ensure safe and reliable operations.

Job Purpose:

• Lead and direct a multidisciplinary team to carry out operation and complex technical fault finding, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of track maintenance machines, including reporting and record keeping of all assets owned and operated by SAR across the SAR network.

Core Responsibilities: -

•Plan and delegate work tasks to ensure that each shift is covered by trained and competent staff.

•Manage timescales, deadlines, and quality of output from all members of their team.

•Demonstrate leadership by example, ensuring that all employees always work safely.

•Lead and direct planned preventative and reactive maintenance to ensure machine reliability and availability is maintained in line with SAR and MOW performance standards.

•Lead and direct teams of technicians, assistant technicians, and operators to operate and carry out complex fault diagnosis on electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems utilized on specialized railway maintenance machines.

•Manage and analyze failure data from machines and operators.

•Ensure maintenance, repairs and operation of MOW machines is undertaken safely and to a high standard.

•Ensure that all MOW activities are undertaken in line with the SAR Policies and Procedures.

•Undertake coaching and mentoring of MOW maintenance technicians and assistant staff to support their development.

•Evaluate all MOW maintenance staff to ensure maintenance and repairs are undertaken in line with procedures and benefits equipment reliability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES amp; PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:

Strategic Contribution:

•Lead and direct teams and individuals to maintain MOW fleet availability and reliability as per SAR KPl's.

•Review skills gap and training needs analysis for direct reports and organize training and learning opportunities to upskill their team and ensure continuous improvement.

Health, Safety. Environment:

•Ensure compliance with the environment and health standards in coordination with HSE Department.

Requirements

Self-Management:

•Defines performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the Section Head and ensures that the goals are achieved throughout the year, with regular performance reviews and feedback.

•Identifies the training and development requirements for self, technicians and assistant technicians and agrees on them with the manager to ensure that the required training is arranged and attended.

•Strives to demonstrate and lead by example the highest levels of proficiency in all the competencies and skills required to perform the role.

•Keeps abreast of professional developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional growth, sharing knowledge with technicians and assistant technicians to upskill the workforce and lead continuous improvement.

COMMUNICATIONS amp; WORKING RELATIONSHIPS (NOT EXHAUSTIVE):

•Internal: - Mow Engineers and team, Track Maintenance and Operations representatives.

•External: - Equipment manufacturers, spare parts suppliers and contractors.
