Job Description
Highly technical and motivated professionals fully conversant with inspection of High Voltage electrical equipment’s in LV, MV and HV electricity networks. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will drive innovation, influence equipment suppliers and contractors to develop and implement improvements to the installation, maintenance and reliability of electrical equipment. Knowledge in how the power system operates, good communication skills, understanding of international standards and familiarity with equipment from various suppliers combined with an appreciation of safety and SA processes are keys to this position.
Requirements
• BS degree in Engineering / Bachelor degree in any field.
• Fifteen (15) years of relevant industrial experience (8 years including in the proposed specific inspection specialty).
• Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of National Electric Code/NFPA 70, IEC or equivalent standards
• Demonstrates a thorough working knowledge of electrical installations, Preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, including materials, methods, specifications, and hazardous location classification.
• Candidate should Have general knowledge of ISO 9001 quality requirements as well as international standards, as applicable to their proposed discipline.
• If having any certification like, ISO 9001:2008/2015, NFPA 70 Certified or equivalent will be preferable.
Duties amp; Responsibilities:
• Sr. electrical inspector shall be responsible for at least the following activities:
• Beside below listed responsibilities, required to fulfill all day to day routine works /instructions from Div. head.
• Develop weekly QC audit plan for all major /critical electrical equipment’s, activities, major repair and pre-commissioning activities.
• Responsible for coordination among other departments and between inspectors to carry out assigned tasks.
• Attend regular and task-oriented meeting within department and other departments/contractors.
• Ensure all findings are properly logged, reported and solved by inspectors during field check in maintenance process.
• Review PM defects and evaluate actions required either by following up with field engineering or other departments.
• Responsible for providing required resources to inspectors to carry out their assigned task/ activities.
• Prepare and issue the monthly PQI for KPI’s. As well as, prepare the summary PQI to the department head. Maintain PQI target as per established system.
• Initiate and escalates NCRs, worksheets for not rectified jobs base on violation logged by inspectors -II.
• Conduct management review meetings and communicate the recommendations to inspection team, on the effectiveness of the developed quality system.
• Prepare and deliver a quarterly project quality status report to division head/PSED.
• Plan and coordinate all internal/external assessments for critical assets, risks associated along with Inspection Assessment group from ID/ISSD.
• Coordinate for Review repair and task lists procedures and checklist developed by engineering.
• Coordinate for development of maintenance inspection and test plans.
• Coordinate for development of set procedures for material handling, roles and responsibilities, forms etc.
• Review and analyze results and findings of both the internal and external assessments.
• Review and approve contractor’s Quality Plans, procedures, personnel qualification and all Schedule Q deliverables if applicable.
• Track and maintain quality records related to inspection for PSED.
• Ensure no overdue inspection as per EIS intervals.
• Consult with area specialist engineer for any repair that requires material or design change or any engineering evaluations.
• Monitor contractor overall maintenance works, quality activities for installation and pre-commissioning if applicable.
• Review overall inspectors’ competence, awareness and required trainings to improve their assigned tasks.
