As a Machinist, you will play a critical role in maintaining and operating various machines used in the oil and energy sector. Your expertise in operating different types of machinery, precision measuring instruments, and interpretation of technical drawings will be key to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of equipment. Additionally, your attention to detail and ability to adhere to safety guidelines will be vital in preventing accidents and maintaining a safe working environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate a variety of machines such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations
- Select appropriate tools, materials, and machines for each job
- Monitor machines during operation to ensure quality and prevent any issues
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, as needed
- Conduct quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications and tolerances
- Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot and solve machining problems
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Machinist in the oil and energy industry
- Proficiency in operating various machines such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Knowledge of different materials and their machinability
- Excellent understanding of precision measuring instruments and their use
- Familiarity with safety protocols and ability to adhere to them rigorously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
