Senior GL Accountant

• Oversee the day-to-day general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and
• accruals.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with accounting policies
• and procedures.
• Supervise month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely completion and accuracy of
• financial statements.
• Collaborate with HR and IT teams to enhance and streamline payroll processes, including the
• implementation of payroll software and automation tools.
• Continuously review and assess payroll procedures to identify opportunities for efficiency
• improvements and cost savings.
• Prepare and review various and comprehensive financial reports.
• Collaborate with the finance team to analyze financial results.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
• Record the acquisition of new fixed assets, including the initial cost, related expenses (such as
• transportation and installation costs), and any financing arrangements.
• Determine the appropriate capitalization threshold and review purchase requests to determine whether
• an item should be capitalized as a fixed asset or expensed.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other relevant legal requirements.
• Assist in the coordination of external audits and provide necessary documentation and support to
• auditors.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of internal controls and process improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and other departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional Certification is required (ACCA, CPA or CA).
• 4-5 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in the retail industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
