Summary:

• Cover Strategy to Execution, in particular lead across Strategy to Portfolio, supporting Requirement to Deployment and appropriately supporting other IS and Data Management Value Streams
• Business Architects will co-create and Capabilities (WHAT), Value Streams (HOW) and Products (WHY) to provide a holistic view of the enterprise, whilst taking a systems thinking and Operating Model view.
• Work collaboratively with the leadership, stakeholders and the business (projects, business units, wider entities) to understand, collate, and document the strategic requirements of EA and lead the efforts ensuring sound portfolios of work but also addressing emerging demand.
• Business Architects may be aligned to specific Business Units or Strategic Problem Domains.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Develop, manage, and enhance the Enterprise Architecture (EA) meta-model and repository
• Whilst expert at Enterprise Business Architecture, discerning strategy and operating model design will also be strong in at least two other domains: Data, Application, Infrastructure or security.
• Specific responsibilities in alignment with the overall Enterprise Architecture are to
• Discerning business strategy including business models design
• Support IS Strategy development
• Structured Operating Model analysis and design
• Business Capability Mapping, management and roadmapping
• Value Stream Mapping and aligning with Business Processes working with Business change
• Initiative amp; Project Mapping
• Product and Service Mapping
• Stakeholder Analysis amp; Engagement, working with BRMs
• Strategic Requirements Management amp; Communication
• Lead and direct IS Strategy aligned to the business, Operating Model and Enterprise Architecture establishment and architectural governance and Solution Architecture and design.
• Guide, support Solution Architecture and Technical Architecture and relevant practitioners
• Manage and deliver the development of an implementation plan for the Enterprise Data Architecture and Data Service based on business, Data and IT strategy and requirements.
• Promotes the business value of data as an asset as an enabler of strategy formulation, and as support for technology innovation, which drives the organization’s top and bottom lines.
• Executes the plan for the enterprise business architecture based on business and IS strategy and requirements.
• Builds and share architecture libraries of capabilities, skills and tech inventory; supporting a plan to close the skills gap. Finds the balance between technical, behavioural, and business and operating model skills.
• Manages the documentation of all business architecture architecture design and analysis work.
• Supports EA team and SA team build and maintain relationships with other business units and clients, orchestration of the delivery of critical digital projects, contributes to the overall delivery of the digital portfolio.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Knowledge and experience working with enterprise business architecture and design in complex settings
• Certified Business Architect e.g. Business Architecture Guild
• TOGAF 9
• Zachman
• Systems Thinking hard, soft and critical e.g. Viable Systems Model, Soft Systems Methodology
• Understanding of the different types of agile principles, methodologies and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at the enterprise level.
• Understanding of existing, new and emerging technologies, and processing environments.
• Balance the long-term (big picture) and short-term implications of individual decisions and organization goals.
• Translate business needs into data architecture requirements and practices
• Apply multiple solutions to business problems.
• Rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
• Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), APIs, microservices, event-driven IT and advanced analytics. Mobile, custom development, RPA and ERP systems.
