Enterprise Data Modeller

Summary:

• Data Modeller working closely with the Business Analyst, Project Manager and Data Architects as well as the Business Change and the business SMEs, ensuring Data Models design and implementations are scalable and meet business, technical and commercial requirement
• Experienced in enterprise wide Data Modelling including Informational Maps, Operational Data Models, Analytical Data Models, Ontologies and their alignment.
• Experienced in Construction Information Management (ISO 19650) and related standards
• Work collaboratively with the leadership, stakeholders and the business (projects, business units, wider entities) to understand, collate, and document the strategic requirements of Data Modelling and lead the efforts ensuring sound portfolios of work but also addressing emerging demand.
• Data Modeller may be aligned across Business Units or Strategic Problem Domains.

Role and Responsibilities:

Facilitate the establishment and execution of the Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Model for information delivery and management; including physical data model implementation for enterprise data warehouse, big data, BI amp; analytics.

• Ability to do data modelling using different approaches based on the requirements and future scope of the solution.
• Align with Data Architect and data engineers to deliver the solutions that fulfil the Business information needs and align with the information vision and strategy
• Apply data strategy while driving data models , balancing short term and long term needs to ensure that the architecture can scale and evolve accordingly
• Engage an end-to-end approach by connecting all the pieces of data to deliver the data while leveraging all available assets
• Provide advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures to ensure schedule attainment, product development process adherence, and performance and budget targets are met
• Take an active role in the performance management process by completing goal setting, interim review, and year-end review on a timely basis and soliciting ongoing feedback
• Assist the Project Manager with the Project Backlog(s), features and high level user stories

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant field from an accredited college or university; Master’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
• Extensive experience in architecting and implementing enterprise data warehouse, Master data Management, data integration, BI amp; analytics, content management and data management platforms
• Experience of creating and implementing data strategies that align with business objectives.
• Strong knowledge of industry best practices around data architecture in both cloud based and on prem solutions.
• A comprehensive understanding of data warehousing and data transformation (extract, transform and load) processes and the supporting technologies such as Amazon Glue, EMR, Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, other analytics products
• Excellent problem solving and data modelling skills (logical, physical, sematic and integration models) including normalisation, OLAP / OLTP principles and entity relationship analysis
• Experience of mapping key Enterprise data entities to business capabilities and applications
• A strong knowledge of horizontal data lineage from source to output

Excellent communication and presentational skills, confident and methodical approach, and able to work within a team environment.

Skills and Experience:

• Information Management according to IS 19650
• Minimum ten years of progressive information management solutions and end-to-end development life-cycle support and SDLC processes
• Minimum eight years leading a team including architects, engineers, quality assurance, and operations professionals
• Experience of modelling data across different approaches such as 3NF or data vault
