• One of the key roles that exist on the team is that of VMware NSX Operations position. This person will be part of the global Virtualization Support and Operations team responsible for supporting our vSphere and NSX environments focusing on NSX that supports our internal cloud.
• The position reports to the NSX Infrastructure Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for NSX environment builds and maintenance VMware version migrations and troubleshooting of the entire Virtualization infrastructure.
• Additional responsibilities include working with automation and updating products to install and maintain security updates and patches.
• Knowledge of VMware NSX products is a must for this position along with a background with infrastructure operational procedures.
• As the VMware NSX Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the technical design, implementation, and ongoing support to ensure project and customer success derived from VMware NSX.

Requirements

• English speaker is a must.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years as a Technical Lead who is very strong with VMware skills (vSphere, vCloud, NSX).
• 3+ years’ experience in technology-related work, working on large-scale enterprise and service provider environments.
• Strong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking tools and technologies (e.g., Ethernet, IP, ARP, ping, traceroute) Strong understanding of standards-based routing protocols (OSPF and BGP).
• Understanding of core load balancing principles as well as Transport and Application Layer principles (persistence, monitoring [TCP, HTTP, HTTPS], cookies, etc.).
• Experience with VMware vSphere environment (e.g., vCenter, ESXi hosts, etc.).
• Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Python, Perl, BASH, etc.).
• Understanding of network-based security (e.g., access lists) and security concepts (black list vs. white list).
• Familiarity with separation of responsibility between management, control, and data planes in networking.
• Enthusiastic and charismatic presentation skill.
