Job Description
Applicants should be able to design, plan, lay out, repair, maintain, troubleshoot and install electrical equipment on boilers and related equipment as follows:
- Services, maintains and repairs electrical components and systems on boilers and related equipment
- Installs electrical components on boilers and related equipment following schematic wiring diagrams. Able to troubleshoot energized electrical circuits
- Wire burner management systems, flame safeguard panels, and other equipment control panels from electrical wiring and schematic diagrams.
- Modifies electrical systems on boiler and related equipment working from drawings or other descriptions of desired modifications.
- Checks and tests individual boiler, feed system, and water softener components to ensure safe and proper operation.
- Furnishes As Built drawings, sketches, and bill of materials
- Performs proper sizing of conductors, conduit, over current, short circuit protection, motor starters, and heaters.
- Performs proper wiring of multi voltage motors and multi-tapped transformers.
- Assists in training and providing advice or guidance to other shop workers in electrical aspects of boiler maintenance and repair.
- Recommends purchase of materials needed to perform job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Job Specification
Must be able to read and understand electrical control schematics. Must have
hands on experience and knowledge in fabrication, maintenance, grounding
and repair of electrical systems and components. Troubleshoots powered
and unpowered circuits, relay logic, flame safeguard, and boiler control
systems. Experienced working with the NEC guidelines. Knowledge of safety
practices and procedures.
