General and Task Management- Assist in the timely delivery of complete and accurate monthly management accounts including Pamp;L, and other ad hoc reports.- Review of balance sheet accounts relating to Logistics.- Liaise with the suppliers to ensure information provided is to required standardand prompt payments follow.- Assisting with the year-end audit and statutory accounts preparation.- Assisting in special projects as assigned.- Posting and processing daily journal entries to ensure all financial business transactions are recorded.- Preparing payments, disbursements, and performing reconciliations.- Monitoring customer’s collection and invoices aging, and reporting of deviations from the credit policies.- Filing, maintaining, and distributing accounting documents accurately and in accordance with company’s policies and accepted accounting practices.- Performing other accounting duties as requested.- Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, and customers.- Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the organisation to improve operational and financial performance.- Deliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements.- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimisation opportunities.Skills Qualifications:- Highly skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally.
- Proven analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.
- Strong planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects through to completion and to manage competing priorities.
- Commercial and financial acumen with a full understanding of the impact of failure in terms of business cost, production schedules and customer order fulfilment
- Qualified or part qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA / CIMA)
- Degree in business, finance, accounting or similar qualification.
- Experience of financial and management accounting and control
- Experience of reporting and analysis
- Advanced Excel user
- Ability to analyse and manipulate technical and complex data and provide meaningful information.
- 3 years’ experience in Logistics
- 3 years’ experience in Accounting.
- Proficient in operating an Accounting System.
