About the Role
The Deputy Store Manager is responsible to take the lead, inspire and motivate the team to deliver a great customer experience to grow sales.
Key Specific Accountabilities:
Use all available information to make decisions through the eyes of the customer
Communicate and engage effectively with customers, role-modelling a great customer experience
Manage people well everyday by following the core processes in all aspects of the colleague lifecycle
Engage the team to perform every day encouraging a strong colleague voice
Spot under performance quickly and manage it well by having effective performance conversations and using appropriate tools to support
Identify talent and use tools and talent programmes to support personal growth
Understand the impact you have on sales, costs and profit
Utilise all available tools and systems to maximise sales and profit
Ensure product/project availability is maximised at all times
Have a full understanding of the processes relevant to your role and store
Take personal responsibility for operating in a safe and legally compliant way
Adhere to all policies & procedures relevant to your role
Deputise for the Store Manager
You may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as we may reasonably require
About You
To be successfully considered for this role, you must demonstrate the following skills and experience:
High school education or equivalent preferred
5+ years deputy store manager experience with a proven track record for driving sales and profit results and training and developing a team of individuals, ideally in retail and home improvement industry
Good command of business English (written and verbal)
Good computer skills (Outlook, Excel & SAP) and detailed report analysis skills
Strong level of numeracy & literacy
Leadership and people management skills
Strong commercial and store operational experience
Understanding of customer experience journey
