Summary
Under the direction of the Process Supervisor, the Shift Team Leader Ensure achieving performance and production goals utilizing plant equipment in a safe, sanitary, quality, and efficient manner. Oversee all team members and ensure all duties and tasks are being performed efficiently and effectively during each shift
Duties and Responsibilities:
- supervise employees, directing all activities of the entire refining process of cane sugar, ensuring quality standards are met; the efficient use of energy (gas and steam), water, air and electric power. Promotes the safe operation of all processing equipment and actively participates in the facility safety program.
- Create shift schedules for team members
- Ensure achieving performance and production goals.
- Assess individual team member abilities and aptitudes, incorporate into shift duties to promote happy employees and effective workflows
- Oversee all team members and ensure all duties and tasks are being performed efficiently and effectively during each shift
- Manage time off requests and unexpected no-show situations
- Facilitate disciplinary action when necessary (tardiness, etc.)
- Maintain a work environment that encourages compliance with safety laws and employment guidelines
- Set performance goals for individual team members, create reward systems and/or contests as needed
- Ensure production goals are met
- Participate in weekly management meetings to discuss goals, progress, and any issues in need of resolution
- Operation daily report.
Requirements
- Diploma in related field
- Minimum of 5 to 8 yrs years of experience in sugar industry. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices is required
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong leadership skills, extensive experience in managing a team
- Creative problem-solving skills
