Your responsibilities
Typical duties/responsibilities for Service Engineer may include, but are not limited to the following: (1) Perform HPR Service , Automation Service which includes Site Study, rectify, programming, graphics development and troubleshoot HPR / automation system by applying own knowledge and experience to find the solution of any problem or modifications required. (2) Lead and coordinate with customers for Service requirements and implement as necessary. (3) Perform work assignments by following ABB’s and customer’s safety policies and procedures and ensures that all activities comply with the required safety regulations and contractual requirements. (4) Living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business. (5) Assess safety, prepare, submit, and maintain reports and documents. (6) Interpreting customer specifications , applications and to design / develop / implement appropriate hardware and software solutions for automation / HPR jobs by applying standard design concepts, topologies, protocols, programming tools and libraries. (7) Create BOQ, support Supply Chain Management for specifications, procurement and delivery. (8) Engineering, Submission and approval of design documents, testing, conduct FAT / SAT, deliver, installation supervision, commissioning, closing of punch points and hand over of projects and services. (9) Ensure implementation of design changes in commissioning and support in the production of as built project documentation. (10) Writing of reports that describe the results of a service / project and ensure customer acceptance / sign off. (11) Maintains records of site reports, timesheets and project documents. (12) Ensure that delivered products and services achieve highest quality and performance levels. (13) Recommending and developing solutions, processing or system optimizing in order to improve system performance. (14) Support Spares, Service Orders, Extra small projects delivery and execution. (15) Monthly reporting on man hours, safety and on time deliveries. (16) support department to meet invoicing schedule and payment collection on time. (17) Work in team with colleagues and support when it is required/share technical knowledge. (18) Identify opportunities to expand the service / project in ways that bring value to our customer and satisfy our profitability requirements.
Sales Support - Providing support to sales and to assist in the development of offerings and cost estimates. Investigate alternative solutions to develop new approaches (products, systems, procedures) to meet customer requirements within budget.
Planning and Control - Translate customer needs / requirements into detailed service / project plans and create work plans for own area of responsibility. Proactively manages this work plan to deliver the agreed job on time, on quality and at the targeted cost. Improve effectiveness of work plans in collaboration with other functions.
Risk & Opportunity Management - Identify & reports potential risks & opportunities. Initiates and monitors risk mitigation plan in own area of responsibility
Customer - Be the primary customer contact during each service / project activities. Attend meetings, handle correspondence, provide periodic updates, resolve issues, negotiate / coordinate as appropriate to meet the customer requirements and ABB commitments.
Processes and Tools - Ensures that correct processes and tools are used as appropriate.
Job Specification
Your background
Ideally, you'll hold a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation & Control), with minimum 2 years experience in the field of HPR / Automation.
Excellent command over written and spoken English language is required.
