Job Description
Each C4I Software Engineer shall be assigned to one of the areas corresponding to his experience as specified in items ‎3 through ‎7 above with the following responsibilities.
1. Perform analysis and resolution of software assigned system software and proposed enhancements.
2. Develop and maintain software source code, databases, tools, and interfaces with related systems and system platforms related to his assigned system.
3. Carry out software installation in conformance with established processes and procedures as documented by Original Equipment/Software Manufacturers.
4. Update software related documentation.
5. Debug the build including initiation, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
6. Develop and conduct software tests to insure the newly developed or modified software meets the requirements.
7. Develop and conduct regression tests to insure that software changes have produced desired results without degradation in other areas.
8. Document test plans, procedures, and results in accordance with established standards and procedures.
9. Provide OJT when required.
10. Provide planning of builds, prepare briefings to senior staff and oversee the resources for software modification effort.
11. Implement and maintain existing build tools and design/develop new build tools (applicable area Build Control)
12. Keep abreast of latest software technologies.
13. Review Request for Proposals (RFP), Statements of Work (SOW), and other technical documents to ensure these documents addresses all requirements.
Job Specification
Shall have a minimum of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. A Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mathematics or Electrical/Electronics Engineering with a minor in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and sufficient courses in software, shall be acceptable. Knowledge of modern system analysis and design methodologies is required.
Experience
1. The C4I Software Engineers shall have a minimum of six (6) years software development, documentation, and maintenance experience in large scale real-time air defense system environments.
2. The experience shall include a minimum of four (4) years software development experience in one of the following (current) C4I system environments (referred to as software areas).
3. C4I Application Software and Application Testing
4. C4I Build Control Software
5. C4I Telling Software
6. C4I MPC/Displays Software
7. C4I Voice and Radio Control System (VRCS) Software
8. The C4I Software Engineer for all software areas shall be knowledgeable about documentation, maintenance, and software build procedures for large scale real-time security/defense systems.
9. The C4I Software Engineer for C4I for Applications shall be familiar with the Common Software Process (CSWP) and Software Engineering Notebook (SEN)
10. Experience with VAX/VMS, UNIX, LINUX, and VxWorks operating systems, FORTRAN77, C and, C++ languages, and real time telecommunication software and embedded applications is essential.
11. Hardware background in Radar, displays, human-machine interfaces, and communication shall be considered a plus.
