Located in SPARK in the Eastern Province, the company develops power transformers, reactors, high-voltage equipment, and renewable energy solutions for Saudi Arabia’s energy sector.
We are seeking a Power Transformer Design Engineer to support the engineering and development of reliable, efficient, and manufacturable transformer products for utility and industrial applications in Dammam.
We are seeking a Power Transformer Design Engineer to support the engineering and development of reliable, efficient, and manufacturable transformer products for utility and industrial applications in Dammam.
- Develop and review electrical designs and calculations for power transformers, including ratings, winding arrangements, insulation coordination, losses, impedance, and thermal performance.
- Prepare technical specifications, design documents, drawings, bills of materials, and manufacturing data in accordance with applicable standards and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, testing, procurement, quality, and project teams to ensure designs are practical, compliant, and delivered on schedule.
- Participate in design reviews, prototype evaluation, factory acceptance testing, and resolution of technical issues or nonconformities.
- Support continuous improvement of transformer products and engineering processes.
What we’re looking for
- Strong knowledge of power transformer electrical design, including winding design, insulation systems, short-circuit forces, losses, impedance, and temperature-rise considerations.
- Ability to perform engineering calculations and select suitable materials, components, and design parameters for high-voltage equipment.
- Working knowledge of IEC and related international standards for power transformers, testing, insulation coordination, and electrical clearances.
- Experience preparing technical drawings, design calculations, bills of materials, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Proficiency with engineering design and calculation tools; familiarity with CAD systems and spreadsheet-based analysis.
- Understanding of transformer manufacturing, routine and type testing, quality controls, and failure analysis.
- Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engineering assignments while maintaining accuracy, safety, and compliance.
